Mayo Tourism Shines at CIE Awards with Multiple Wins
Mayo toursim took center stage at the CIE Tours International’s annual Awards of Excellence in Dublin, where six of the county’s hotels and attractions were honored for their outstanding service and visitor experience.
Celebrating 30 years, these prestigious awards recognize the best hotels and tourist attractions across Ireland, based on feedback from over 25,000 CIE Tours International customers. Each winner achieved a customer satisfaction rating of over 92%, with Gold Award recipients earning the highest ratings in their categories.
Major Wins for Mayo
The Lodge at Ashford Castle led the way, winning a Gold Award and being named Best 4-Star Hotel. This luxury hotel continues to impress visitors with its exceptional hospitality and stunning surroundings.
Clew Bay Hotel also brought pride to Mayo toursim by winning a Gold Award and being recognized as the Best 3-Star Hotel. This win highlights the hotel’s dedication to providing top-quality service to its guests.
Westport Walking Tour further strengthened the county’s reputation by winning a Gold Award for the Best Walking Tour in Ireland. This guided experience offers visitors a fascinating insight into the town’s rich history and heritage.
Recognizing Excellence
In addition to the Gold Awards, three other key players received Merit Awards for their exceptional service and warm welcome:
- Ballintubber Abbey – A historic landmark offering a unique cultural and spiritual experience.
- Westport House – A beloved visitor attraction known for its rich history and family-friendly activities.
- Hotel Westport – Recognized for delivering outstanding hospitality and comfort.
A Testament to Quality
The honors were presented by Fiona Ross, chairman, and Elizabeth Crabill, CEO of CIE Tours International. In total, 84 hotels and attractions across Ireland were recognized, with 13 category winners receiving Gold Awards.
CIE Tours International, a member of the CIE Group, is Ireland’s largest specialist tour operator. With over 88 years in business, it brings thousands of visitors to Ireland annually, booking more than 350,000 bed nights.
